Appealing Colors

This bracelet has six very interesting Colored Agates accented with round clear glass beads. Agate is a mineral gemstone in the Quartz group and one of the varieties of Chalcedony. Chalcedony a very hard dense stone. When this stone is found in it's beautiful blue state, it is called Chalcedony, and when it is banded (often in wild patterns) it is called an agate.

Some agates gemstones which lack strong colors and banding, are dyed and heated treated to enhance stabilize their colors as in the case of this agate. A quality Agate bracelet which will blend with many of your Silver Jewelry pieces.

When we consider the physical characteristics of agate, it is a very good gemstone to be used in making jewelry. With a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, it is usable in all jewelry making applications and it can be used in jewelry pieces with modest care and little worry about damage. The most common danger to Agates are scratches, sharp blows and a gradual dulling of their glassy finish due to contact with harder substances. These particular agate gems are translucent to opaque natural gemstones. There are six different colored gems which accent each other and in a nice way, and have been cut into a long oval twisted pattern which which really catches the light. They are very appealing gems.
