Ornate Onyx

A very attractive Black Banded Onyx, Gemstone Bracelet. Onyx is a mineral gemstone which is a variety of the Chalcedony species which is in the Quartz group of mineral gemstones. In common practice, only the translucent, single color types are sold as "Chalcedony". The rest of this group is sold under individual names such as agates, jasper, and in this case Onyx which is identified by it's flat layers of different colors.

Onyx is a reasonably hard gemstone which is very durable and stable. And, this bracelet is an easy piece to use in accenting pieces of your Silver Jewelry.

It is a very good gemstone to be used in making jewelry. With a hardness of #7 on the Mohs scale, it is applicable in all jewelry making applications and it can be used in jewelry pieces with modest care and little worry about damage.
