Pink & Subtle Red

Here is uniquely beautiful pair of custom Sterling Silver dangle earrings which I have designed and crafted. Each has two gemstones set in smooth edged bezel cups. The upper gemstone is an 8mm round Mother of Pearl and the lower gem is an 18x25mm oval Carnelian. They are joined together with 18 gauge round Sterling Silver wire formed into teardrop eyes along with a custom handmade Sterling Silver ear wire.

The rose colored iridescent quality of the Mother of Pearl gemstones really accents the translucent red of the larger Carnelian gems. The light really sparkles when it is reflected from the surface of the silver and the gemstones, and visually they seem to catch your eye and demand attention. The combined colors of these gems will allow these earrings to be be worn with just about any outfit and they will be a great addition to your jewelry collection.

Mother of Pearl in the common name for iridescent narce, a blend of minerals that are secreted by oysters and deposited in their shells during the process of making a pearl, and it has the same mineral composition as a pearl. It is an organic gemstone which means that it originated in a living creature. Pearl jewelry looks great by itself when fashioned into various pieces of jewelry and really adds color to other gemstones as with these earrings.

Carnelian is the name given to a specific color of agate. The stone's color varies from orange to reddish-orange and dark orange. There is also a dark brownish shade of Carnelian which is suitable for a mans ring. The most favorable pieces are deep-red to red-orange in color. This stones are reddish-orange with no blemishes or inclusions which would take away from their value as quality agate gemstones.
