These Firecracker gemstones have been added to a new design of Hoop Earrings which I created. They really attract attention with their fiery colors. They have been re-drilled to fit on 16 gauge Sterling Silver wire along with smaller Sterling Silver Beads. From the picture you will notice the hoop which measures 1.50 inches in diameter has been soldered to itself to form the hoop and the ear wire eyes has also been soldered making for a stronger and longer lasting piece of silver jewelry.

When we consider the physical characteristics of Firecracker Agates, they are a very good gems to be used in making jewelry as they are very durable and stable. Visually, they have an irregular soft red and cream colored pattern, and they are opaque with a vitreous (glassy) finish which will take a good polish. They can be used in silver jewelry applications with modest care and little worry about damage.

Please Note:
   1. The wire used in these earrings is half-hard silver wire
   2. Further hardened by forming the hoops
   3. Tumbled for a minimum of 4 hours which also hardens the wire.

This method of making Sterling Silver Earrings produces a very strong durable product which will resist distortion. You will want these earrings as a part of your jewelry collection.
