Rose, Cream, & Black

Bloodstone is a green, usually dark green, gemstone with red spots which gives the stone it's descriptive name. Technically, bloodstone is Green Jasper with the presence of iron oxide giving it the spots of red which look like drops of blood. Although most bloodstone gems are green, there are variations such as this one which is black with light grey streaks and rose to creamy pink spots interspersed throughout. A very beautiful gemstone. It is optically an opaque stone with a very subtle appearance and it's hardness allows it to be a very versatile gemstone.

Bloodstone is a vitreous stone which has a high glossy sheen and it can be worn everyday enduring rough usage without much danger of damaging it other than a gradual dulling of the finish or being scratched.

This blackish to light gray gemstone with rose spots is set in an attractive smooth edged Sterling Silver bezel cup mounting and a very attractive oval tapered Sterling Silver Bail. The bail "ID" opening is 9.5mm. Be sure to measure your necklace closure to be sure that it will pass through the bail opening. This gemstone pendant has an overall simple but elegant appearance and will be a piece of  Silver Jewelry which you will want wear over and over again.
